● How to Purchase Items on Yahoo Japan Auction via OneMall?
Yahoo Japan Auctions operate through an auction system with three ways to purchase items: “Bidding””Buy It Now” or “Scheduled Bidding”.
- Bidding in an Auction: Set your maximum budget, and OneMall will place bids for you within 24 hours. If your bid remains the highest when the auction ends, you win the item.
- Buy It Now: Skip the bidding process and directly purchase the item at the seller’s fixed price.
- Scheduled Bidding: This feature enables automatic bidding within the final 7 minutes of the auction. The system will place your bid in the last minute according to the amount you’ve set, ensuring you don’t miss out by constantly monitoring auctions.
Once you win the auction, you’ll wait for the seller to ship the item. After it arrives at our Japan warehouse, the status will update to “In Stock, Awaiting Shipping Method,” allowing you to select your preferred international shipping method and pay for the shipping fees and any taxes.
Please note: Domestic shipping fees within Japan are set by the seller and you will need to pay both domestic and international shipping fees.
● How Does the Bidding System Work on Yahoo Japan Auctions?
Yahoo Japan Auctions function differently from traditional auction platforms. Buyers must set a maximum bid amount, and the system will automatically place bids on their behalf, starting from the current price and increasing by increments. Your bid will continue to rise until you either exceed all other buyers’ bids or reach your set maximum.
If another buyer’s maximum bid is higher than yours, the system will continue to increase their bid beyond your limit, maintaining them as the highest bidder even if the price increases.
● What is a Bidding Increment?
Bidding increments on Yahoo Japan Auctions are fixed based on the current price range. The system automatically increases the bid according to these increments during the auction:
- Less than 1,000 yen: 10 yen increment
- 1,000 to 5,000 yen: 100 yen increment
- 5,000 to 10,000 yen: 250 yen increment
- 10,000 to 50,000 yen: 500 yen increment
- Above 50,000 yen: 1,000 yen increment
● How Do I Know if I Won the Bid? Will I Get a Refund if I Don’t Win?
Once you pay for the auction order, OneMall will place bids automatically. If any system issues occur, manual bidding will be initiated within 24 hours. According to Yahoo Japan Auction rules, once a bid is successfully placed, it cannot be canceled.
If you win the auction, the system will automatically refund any difference between your maximum bid and the winning bid. If you don’t win, or if the seller cancels the auction, you will receive a full refund, which will be processed within three business days to your original payment method.
● Can I Raise My Bid if I’m Outbid?
Yes, you can increase your bid if another buyer surpasses your initial offer. If you choose to raise your bid, you’ll need to pay the new amount, and any difference from the original bid will be automatically refunded. Alternatively, you can cancel the auction and receive a full refund.
● How Are Auction Service Fees Charged?
OneMall charges a 3% service fee (minimum 200 yen, maximum 300 yen) for assisting with auctions or “Buy It Now” purchases.
- Service fees are calculated based on your final bid or purchase price.
- The fee is added during checkout and is not included in the listed bid price.
- If you win an auction at a lower price than your maximum bid, the service fee will be recalculated based on the final bid price, and any difference will be refunded.
- For “Buy It Now” purchases, the fee is calculated based on the fixed price.
● How Are Domestic Shipping Fees Calculated?
Domestic shipping fees are set by the seller. Some items may show “to be determined” for shipping costs, which can only be confirmed after winning the auction. The fee shown on the product page may also change once the item is won.
The domestic shipping fee, along with the international shipping fee, must be paid once the item reaches our Japan warehouse. Please note that OneMall does not support items requiring cash on delivery or store pickup in Japan.
● How Are International Shipping Fees Calculated?
Once the item is at the warehouse, users can select a shipping method (EMS/DHL/ECMS) in the order center. Shipping costs will be based on the package’s weight and the chosen shipping method. Customs duties may also apply, depending on the destination country.
Please refer to the “Mine” > “Shipping Fee and Tax Rate” page for more details.
● Do I Need to Pay Customs Duties?
When using EMS, DHL, or ECMS, local customs will determine if duties are payable when the package arrives. You will be responsible for paying any applicable duties.
Check the “Mine” > “Shipping Fee and Tax Rate” page for more information.
● Are There Any Restrictions on What Can Be Shipped?
Certain items, such as flammable, explosive, or toxic materials, cannot be shipped internationally. Items classified as dangerous goods are also restricted from air transport. Any costs incurred from returned packages due to shipping dangerous goods will be the user’s responsibility.
● What Happens If the Item is Damaged? Will OneMall Inspect the Goods?
If a package arrives damaged at our Japan warehouse, we will contact the seller and address the issue. However, if you haven’t opted for additional value-added services, we will not inspect the contents of the package, and we cannot provide solutions for issues like wrong or missing items.
If an item is left behind at our warehouse, OneMall will reship it to you free of charge.
● Are the Products Guaranteed to Be Authentic?
All items on Yahoo Japan Auctions are sold as second-hand goods by individual sellers. Due to the nature of OneMall’s proxy shopping service, we cannot guarantee the authenticity or condition of the products. Please carefully consider this before purchasing.
● Can Buyers Contact Sellers on Yahoo Japan Auctions?
OneMall is unable to provide the service of asking questions to the seller and related to price negotiation before purchase. If your order is cancelled, our buyers will take the initiative to contact the seller for communication, but there is no guarantee that the transaction will be successful.
● Does OneMall Support Refunds and Returns?
OneMall provides a proxy purchasing service, and orders are non-refundable once payment is made. Exceptions apply only to special circumstances, such as items purchased directly from Amazon Japan. According to Yahoo Japan Auction rules, buyers cannot cancel their orders once a bid or purchase is successful.
Please carefully confirm product information before purchasing.
● How Long Does It Take for Sellers to Ship Items to the Warehouse?
Shipping times for Japanese stores and second-hand sellers may be slower compared to domestic shipping. On average, delivery to the warehouse takes between 3 to 7 days, but it may take longer. If an item hasn’t arrived at the warehouse within 2 weeks, please contact customer service.
● When do Japanese buyers accept orders?
Bidding orders on Yahoo Japan Auctions are automatically placed through the system. If automatic bidding fails, a buyer will handle the order manually.
The buyer’s order acceptance hours are from 1:00 AM to 11:00 AM (UTC).
Please note that there is often a higher volume of orders on weekends, particularly Saturdays and Sundays, which may cause a backlog. These will typically be processed collectively on Monday.
● Why Are Some Products Marked as ‘Not Available for Purchase’?
Certain items, such as those prohibited by customs or from sellers with quality issues, are blocked from purchase on OneMall. Items flagged as prohibited or fragile may also be unavailable for purchase. If you find a restricted item still available for purchase, please report it using the button on the product detail page.
