Mercari Price Negotiation Feature Guide

Price Negotiation Only

  1. The price negotiation feature integrates with Mercari’s official negotiation system, only available for items sold by individual sellers and priced above 1,000 JPY.
  2. The minimum negotiable price is 80% of the original price, with customizable amounts. Items already on discount are not eligible for negotiation.
  3. Each item can only receive one price negotiation request across the entire platform, and the submission cannot be modified.
  4. Each user can submit up to 3 price negotiation requests per day.If the seller reduces the price below your requested amount after receiving the negotiation request, you will be notified via push notification and in-platform message.
  5. All users on the platform can purchase items at the new price, so please pay attention to related notifications. If you want to secure the item, it’s recommended to use the “Buy Immediately at Reduced Price” feature.
  6. To avoid being flagged by Mercari for malicious price negotiations, please only negotiate for items you intend to purchase. Users who repeatedly negotiate prices without making purchases may lose their negotiation privileges.

Buy Immediately at Reduced Price

  1. To use the immediate purchase at reduced price feature, you must pay the desired amount in advance. The system will automatically place the order as soon as the seller reduces the price.
  2. There is no limit on the number of times you can use the immediate purchase at reduced price feature.
  3. Users cannot request refunds within 24 hours of application. After 24 hours, if the seller hasn’t reduced the price to the target amount, users can request a refund.
  4. If the new price is lower than your desired price, the difference in item price and handling fees will be automatically refunded.
  5. The system typically places orders within 1 minute of the seller’s price reduction, but since all platform users can purchase at the new price, successful purchase cannot be guaranteed.
  6. If the item is purchased by another user or removed from listing, the order will be automatically cancelled and refunded.
